Merry Christmas!

My attitude towards Christmas and the Holiday Season has evolved so much, through the years, for so many reasons. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has experienced such a thing.😉

The Holy Bible teaches that two millenniums ago, God’s Angels declared His Will to be “Peace On Earth. Good Will Towards [All].” The Bible also teaches that one of two Greatest Commandments upon which all “the law and the prophets” hangs is: “Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself.” (Matthew 12:31)

As I continue through Life’s Journey, I focus less and less on ‘the Law and the Prophets‘ and more and more on: simply accepting people for the way they are–regardless of their belief system or other ‘differences’ that would typically alienate one human or group of humans from another–especially because of religious beliefs.

Yes, I am becoming one of those individuals that desires to see ALL of HUMANITY come together in PEACE.

I used to focus on securing for myself a place in ‘Heaven’ and helping to ‘Save’ others in the ‘Kingdom of God’ by being a good adherent to my religious tenets, doctrines, commandments, etc., etc., (The Law and The Prophets) sometimes to the extent of disrespecting another person’s ‘reality’ by ‘calling them to repentance’ or otherwise trying to lead them to God.

To me, engaging in such behavior isn’t in line with ‘doing unto others (respecting others’ realities) as one would have (one’s own reality respected) done unto oneself. That’s just me, though.

My primary focus becomes more and more, each day, to help solve world poverty, as ineffectual as I may be. The ‘here and now’ is my reality and helping to save God’s Human Family that lives upon Earth in THIS LIFE is what I am choosing to focus on. Those things and people that take me away from that focus and the peace that it gives me will have less and less place in my reality.

It is rather difficult to convince a person about the importance of a future salvation when their belly is aching for food and their body is unprotected by clothes and a roof over their head. Scriptures cannot be consumed by the spirit when the mind is obsessed with where the next meal will come from or with finding shelter from the cold.

As I said: I may be ineffectual at engaging in humanity-saving activities, but I’d rather fail at such a thing.
